I very rarely read self-help books, especially the ones about managing your career. But as someone who is at the early stages of his career, i was interested in giving this book a go. I am very glad to report that this book is a very helpful read which has a detailed explanantion on how to work the various parts of the corporate structure to be successful at your career.
The book gives much emphasis on inter-personal relationship at one's work and how to manipulate it to one's advantage to have very successful career. Various career challenges one must overcome, the uncoupling of your dreams and goals, ways of self-improvement are the other topics the author skillfully explains in the various chapters.
Unlike other career management books which mostly just act as a motivation tool, Faster Smarter Higher by Utkarsh Rai delve into real life scenarios and is structured in a way that its covers various facets of one's career. This book goes into detail about the entire corporate machinery and how one can successfully interact with it to have a successful career. And it is littered with very helpful thoughts, quotes from Industry leaders and successful personalities. The simple vocabulary and the lack of jargons makes this a pacy read for anyone looking for guidance on their budding career.
To summarise I would say this a really good quick read for anyone who is willing to give his/her career a push in the right direction. And i think this book really helps in giving you a fresh perspective and inspiration.
